I’ve spent 11 years with VHA and 2 years with VBA.
Why did you become a social worker?
I wanted to help people.
What do you like about working in homeless programs?
Housing Veterans and their families. There’s nothing like meeting with a person and watching that person achieve their goals. I truly enjoy this part of my job.
What barriers have you or your team broken down to help Veterans?
Our team has broken down barriers regarding homelessness, mental health, and substance use for our Veterans. We help individuals see people, not just their circumstances.
