UPDATE: HUD-VASH/SSVF Collaborative Case Management Guidance Updated

The National HUD-VASH and SSVF Program Offices have developed updated guidance regarding Collaborative Case Management.  This guidance should assist communities to understand and work towards collaborative case management models, versus traditional and allowable co-enrollments between HUD-VASH and SSVF.  Please review the revised documents to assess local needs and collaborations that will support Veterans with access to permanent housing within your communities.  If you have additional questions, please contact your Regional Coordinator.

RESOURCE: Payment Management System (PMS) changes to new user access requests for SSVF grant recipients, effective June 2, 2024.

If you already have access to the PMS, these changes will not affect you. If your PMS username becomes deactivated due to inactivity, you will need to submit a new user access request. Below are changes that will take effect on June 2, 2024.

Changes for SSVF Grantee when submitting a new user access request:

  1. Open PMS and go to the PMS Login screen, then select Request Access.
  2. Click on the partner system (ID.me).
    1. If the grantee has an ID.me account, they will be directed to the new user access request screen.
    2. If the grantee does not have an ID.me account, they should click on the Create an ID.me account button, and ID.me will take them through the process of creating an account. Once the account is created, they will be automatically directed to the new user access screen, where they will enter the required information to gain access to PMS.

Note: PMS usernames and passwords will no longer be provided since they will now login using ID.me. If a new user access request was processed prior to the implementation of this change and they have not logged in for the first time, they must provide the PMS username and password that was emailed to them.

  1. In the new user access request screen, the SSVF grantee is required to enter the Payee Identification Number (PIN), Payee Account Number (PAN), or PMS Employee Identification Number (EIN) to gain access to their accounts. If the new user does not know the PIN, PAN, or PMS EIN, contact your agency SSVF lead or the SSVF Regional Coordinator. The PMS Support Team cannot provide the PIN, PAN, or PMS EIN.
  2. For new user access requests, the organization name entered by the SSVF grantee must exactly match SAM.gov or PMS.

If you need assistance, please contact the Help Desk for Payment Management Services at 877-614-5533.

RESOURCES: VA Celebrates LGBTQ+ Pride Month and Resource Links

June is LGBTQ+ Pride Month with the theme, Pride Counts at VA. This Pride Month, we shine a spotlight on our LGBTQ+ Veterans, and highlight the resources and services that make VA the best place for Veterans to receive their care.

Pride Counts at VA is more than just a theme; it’s a declaration that sexual orientation and gender identity matter. It’s an invitation to stand together, recognizing the value and contributions of LGBTQ+ Veterans, staff, caregivers, and allies. This year, we aim to highlight the importance of visibility and belonging.

LGBTQ+ Veterans have served our country in every war since the Revolution, but they have not always gotten the care and benefits that they so rightly deserve. With that in mind, here at the VA, we have worked to show that we are committed to providing LGBTQ+ Veterans – and ALL Veterans – world-class care in a safe, welcoming, and discrimination-free environment. Every Veteran and VA employee should feel respected and treated with dignity at VA.

We want Veterans to take pride in your health. We know that like all our Veterans, LGBTQ+ Veterans have unique healthcare goals and needs, which is why every VHA facility has a LGBTQ+ Veteran Care Coordinator (VCC) to help navigate their healthcare. Find yours here: Directory of LGBTQ+ Veteran Care Coordinators (va.gov)

This month, and every day, we are proud to serve all who have served. We will continue to uplift and celebrate every Veteran and serve them the best way we know how, through world-class healthcare.
