REMINDER: SSVF Program Change Request Available March 4, 2024 through April 5, 2024

This SSVF Program Change request is being published by the SSVF Program Office from March 4 through April 5, 2024.  Grantees may request new changes to geography or subcontractor changes during this change period.  Budget modifications will not be available as a program change option at this time as FY24 budgets are still being approved. All pre-approved changes by your Regional Coordinator must still be submitted formally during this time.

All requests for program changes must be submitted to the SSVF Program Office by the Grantee via the UDPAAS grants management system. The Program Change request can be found in the Grant management system (UDPaaS) under the Request Activity Tab of your FY24 grant award record. Grantees complete a standardized form for the request and supportive documentation (if required). This Companion Guide provides an overview of this process and submission deadlines, defines the various types of program changes, and provides instructions for completing the online form. The guide can also be found on the SSVF Website under the Grant Management section.

All submissions must be entered by April 5, 2024

REMINDER: Customer Service and Intake Information

We want to remind grantees that an essential part of our services includes good customer service. We are asking grantees to take a moment to ensure that the access points to your agency are accessible, educated, and equipped to ensure that a Veteran’s initial interaction and every ongoing interaction is positive and helpful. This includes but is not limited to ensuring your phone number is accurate on your website, and that the person answering the phone or front door has the accurate information to help the person in front of them.

SSVF Grantees are also expected to keep up to date intake information within the SSVF grant management system. Grantees can do this by going into their grant award, clicking on “Request Activity” and selecting Update Intake Information.  Grantees only need to do this if changes have occurred. Current intake information is available for review on our website by selecting Locate a SSVF Provider.  The SSVF Program Office strongly encourages grantees to create general email and phone numbers that do not need to be changed due to staff turnover for Veteran intakes.

RESOURCE: SSVF Program Office FY2022 Annual Report

This report covers the eleventh grant period for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) program, including awards made in 2021 for the FY 2022 period (October 1, 2021, to September 30, 2022). The report summarizes the results attained by the 249 SSVF grantees funded for FY 2022. It is intended to inform Congress and the public about the grantees’ important work helping to prevent and end homelessness among our nation’s Veterans.

This report uses data reported by grantees through local Homeless Management Information Systems (HMIS) and subsequently provided to VA via monthly uploads to the SSVF HMIS data repository. With the FY 2022 Annual Report, the methodology used to analyze HMIS data was changed to increase accuracy and efficiency in the annual reporting process (for more information see Section 2). Additional information was obtained from grantee quarterly reports and surveys of SSVF program participants.
