NEW: VA
Authorizes National Expansion of SSVF Shallow Subsidy Initiative (PDF attached)
The attached
notice authorizes Grantees in all 50 states, Puerto Rico, Washington, D.C., the
Virgin Islands, and Guam to offer 2-year rental subsidies described in 38 CFR
Part 62.34(a)(6) and (8), known as shallow subsidies, to program participants.
Grantees who do not currently receive special funding to support shallow
subsidies, will be awarded additional funding. In the coming days, MOAs
will be sent to newly funded Grantees. You will need to review, sign, and
return these MOAs to the SSVF Program office prior to the release of this new
funding. New funding should be available through separate HHS accounts before
the end of the FY 2021. Additional information will be shared in the coming weeks
as the expansion of this initiative rolls out. Please email any questions to: SSVF@VA.gov or contact your Regional Coordinator.
For additional information about the Shallow Subsidy initiative please refer to

REMINDER:
SSVF Housing Skills Practice Center, a Learning Management System, a tool for
training and onboarding
The SSVF
Program Office partners with our Technical Assistance providers to offer the
Housing Skills Practice Center, an online learning platform that allows for
interactive curricula on topics relevant to SSVF. Each Grantee has been
assigned a Grantee Learning Manager. This role is responsible for setting up
learner accounts, have access to reporting information on learner
accomplishments, and a general oversight of their grant’s portal in the Housing
Skills Practice Center. If there are Grantee staff who are interested in
accessing the Housing Skills Practice Center, they should first ask internally
about who their Grantee Learning Manager is, and that person should be able to
create an account for them if they have space available. If they need
assistance finding their Grantee Learning Manager, they should reach out to
their SSVF Regional Coordinator who can provide more information. If an
assigned Grantee Learning Manager has not yet set up their account or has other
technical questions, they should email: housingpractice@tacinc.org. The
SSVF Program Office will be releasing more information about the available
curricula within the system, including upcoming required trainings in the
system.
