2021 Nurses Month
Message from Beth Taylor, DHA, RN, NEA-BC
National Nurses Month is a time to honor our contributions to the VA health care system, both in the role we play as clinicians and as leaders who significantly influence the quality of Veterans’ care. The American Nurses Association (ANA) has determined this year’s theme to be “Nurses Make a Difference”, a nod to the exceptionally positive influence nurses have as members of the overall healthcare team and to the life-changing impacts nurses have in the lives of patients, families and caregivers.
As VA nurses, you are the backbone of our Health Care System. Your professional practice and leadership within VA is foundational to ensuring safe, cost effective, high quality health services in VA. We are so proud of the clinical expertise and significant contributions of our nursing staff in ensuring we meet our mission, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
To ALL my fellow VA nurses, It is an honor to celebrate and recognize the extraordinary work that you do leading changes to result in a highly reliable health system, improving Veteran access to care and ensuring excellence in the Veteran experience. Thank you for making a difference and serving as leaders in ensuring excellence in VHA health care.
Happy Nurses Month!
