Veteran Looks to Higher Power to Cope with Grief
After her mother died, Army Veteran Starlette Price found herself depressed, angry, and often on the defensive at work. Working with a Whole Health coach, she tapped into her own faith to rely on God in coping with her grief and lessening the work pressure she felt. This video tells her story. “I changed my mindset in reference to having it as armor, like a weapon. I changed it to the armor of God. And that takes a lot of pressure off of me. When I put it into God's hands, if I have that armor on, that covers everything that I'm going through.”

VA has more options for working with chaplains than any other care system. Talk to them for advice and support. They are trained to listen nonjudgmentally and will treat all conversations as private. Use the VA Chaplain Directory to find your local VA Chaplain Service.
