Dr. Nithya Ramnath is a board-certified oncologist.
Dr. Nithya Ramnath received her medical degree from Jawaharlal Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education, Pondicherry, India. She then completed her Internal Medicine Residency training at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, NYC, NY before doing a fellowship in Oncology from Wayne State University, Detroit, MI. Dr. Ramnath’s academic career began at Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo, NY. She later joined the Oncology Division at the University of Michigan with a joint appointment at the VA Ann Arbor Healthcare System in 2008. Dr. Ramnath is currently the Section Chief of Oncology and the Director of the Precision Oncology Program at VA Ann Arbor. Her scientific career has been devoted to research in cancer therapeutics with the long-term goal of reducing morbidity and mortality from lung cancer. In addition to therapeutics, Dr. Ramnath also has a keen interest in identifying blood-based biomarkers of recurrence as well as ex vivo analysis of circulating tumor cells (CTCs) both as prognostic and predictive (of response) markers.
