New Delaware CBOC Opening in 2025!

Columbus ELT at the groundbreaking for the new Delaware CBOC

Columbus VA has recently started construction on a fifth community-based outpatient clinic (CBOC) which will open in 2025.

This new CBOC will be located in Delaware County which currently has about 7,500 eligible Veterans, only half of whom are enrolled in VA healthcare. The strategic location of this CBOC will help us reach unenrolled Veterans in one of the highest population centers in Central Ohio and bring care closer to home for many Veterans currently using the Marion CBOC. Additionally, this new CBOC will bring more VA healthcare options to one of the fastest-growing areas in Central Ohio and potentially reduce dependence on community care.

Recent Q&A regarding the new location:

Will the Delaware offer radiology services? A complete list of specialty services has not yet been determined. Right now we know lab services will be available. Other additions will be announced as decisions are made.

Where will the clinic be located? 870 Sunbury Road Suite 2021, Delaware 43015

When is the Delaware clinic opening? Construction is expected to be completed in August 2025 and ready for patients in Oct/Nov 2025

How do we transfer care from the existing clinic? As time nears, Veterans with the Delaware zip code will receive a letter asking if they’d like to transfer. If you do not have a Delaware zip code, you can ask your primary care provider about transferring to the Delaware Clinic.

When and where will jobs be posted for the Delaware clinic? All vacancies will be posted on the usajobs.gov website.

When is the new Marion facility be open? Tentatively, construction is expected to be completed in May 2025 and ready for patients in August 2025.

What services will be offered? The Marion Clinic will continue to offer the services they offer now, additional services have not yet been determined.

Can you keep your Columbus or Marion provider even if you live near the Delaware clinic? Yes, it is your choice which facility you receive your care. You do not have to transfer to the Delaware Clinic unless you prefer to. The same for your specialty services. You can get those at the VA facility of your choice if they offer the service you need.

Can you use a Columbus provider, but get lab work done at Delaware? Absolutely.

If I change to Delaware clinic does that mean I will have a new primary care provider? Yes, more than likely. Staff from the Columbus facility will be transferring to work at the Delaware Clinic but we have not selected those staff or a primary care physician at this time.

Will there be an urgent care? No.

How will Veterans get medications if they use the Delaware clinic? There will be a pharmacist at the Delaware Clinic but no medications will be kept on-site. Medications will be mailed to you.
