Wreaths Across America: Honoring Our Heroes

Each December, Wreaths Across America carries out its mission to Remember, Honor, and Teach by coordinating wreath-laying ceremonies at Arlington National Cemetery and over 4,000 other locations across the United States, including Fort Gibson National Cemetery. This initiative ensures we honor our nation’s veterans, remember their sacrifice, and teach future generations about the cost of freedom.

At Fort Gibson National Cemetery, over 28,000 veterans rest in eternal peace. This year, despite the heartfelt efforts of the community, only 3,200 wreaths were sponsored. That left thousands of gravesites without this symbol of gratitude and remembrance. Members of our team joined volunteers to lay the wreaths, ensuring each veteran honored had their name read aloud and their service remembered.

The wreath-laying process is more than just placing a wreath; it’s an opportunity to reflect on the service and sacrifice of each veteran. Volunteers carefully lay the wreath, speak the veteran’s name aloud, and pause to honor their life and legacy. This personal connection brings the mission of Wreaths Across America to life.

Looking ahead to next year, we want to do even more. Our goal is to cover every grave at Fort Gibson National Cemetery in 2025. Achieving this will take all of us—sponsoring wreaths, sharing the mission, and volunteering to lay them. For just $17, you can sponsor a wreath to honor a veteran, ensuring their memory lives on.

Join us next December as we come together to remember our heroes and their sacrifice. Together, we can ensure no veteran is forgotten. Mark your calendar now and help us make 2025 a record-breaking year!

Members of our team and our families look forward to this event each year. It is such an honor to participate.
