Why VA Houston: I initially sought out the Houston VA because it would give me the ability to serve veterans through a wide variety of clinical experiences, including my interests in psychiatry and infectious diseases. Ultimately, I was drawn to the genuineness that I felt and the positive environment that was described during the virtual showcase. Additionally, the residents and RPD spoke highly of the mentorship available and shared that the preceptors are supportive, intentional, and invested in the growth of their residents. 

This was extremely important to me as I am completing a residency after being licensed for several years. Now that I am here, I have been able to witness the encouraging and supportive environment for myself. I look forward to growing during my time here and I am beyond honored to be apart of the MEDVAMC family.
