Free Flu Shots for Veterans
Flu season is upon us. As a Veteran patient at the VA Maryland Health Care System, here’s how you can get a free flu shot.
Flu shots from an in-network community pharmacy
To be eligible, Veterans must be enrolled for VA health care and have received care through VA--either a VA or community provider--within the past 24 months. To find an in-network community pharmacy near you, visit www.va.gov/find-locations, enter your city, state or zip code, and select “Community pharmacies (in VA’s network)” under “Facility type.”
No referrals are required to get a free flu shot at an in-network community pharmacy, but please take your VA Veteran Health ID card or another government-issued ID, along with this postcard (or snap a picture of it with your smartphone) to show the pharmacy staff. They will use the coding information listed below to bill VA instead of charging you.

- Get your flu shot at a scheduled primary care appointment or at some specialty care appointments.
- Come to one of our walk-in clinics for Veteran patients beginning September 23,2024.
