A dynamic learning and collaboration center opens at the Minneapolis VA Medical Center

Minneapolis , MN — The Minneapolis VA Health Care System announces the opening of the Interprofessional Education and Collaboration Center (IPECC).

Located in the heart of the Minneapolis VA Medical Center, the new state-of-the-art IPECC is designed to provide a dynamic learning environment where VA staff and health professions trainees can come together to learn, share knowledge, and collaborate on best practices. 

"We are thrilled to open the doors of the IPECC and host healthcare professionals from all disciplines in a variety of learner-centric simulation lab, multipurpose classroom and computer lab settings," said Ezgi Tiryaki, MD, Associate Chief of Staff for Education. "Access to professional development in proximity to clinical care spaces is critical for providing Veteran-centric care.”

In the future, the IPECC will be used as headquarters for training nearly 3,000 Minneapolis VA health care providers on a new electronic records system.  

The grand opening ribbon-cutting ceremony on Monday, Mar. 11 at 12:00 will kick off a week of events for National VHA Health Professionals Education Week.
