Minneapolis VA is set to launch a Virtual Health Resource Center on July 25, 2024, at their Minneapolis VA Medical Center location.

The Minneapolis VA Virtual Health Resource Center, commonly called the VHRC for short, will offer support to Veterans, their family members and caregivers, and VA staff looking to take advantage of virtual care tools. They will be able to provide guidance, hands-on support, training, troubleshooting, and other information regarding virtual care tools, such as VA Video Connect, My HealtheVet, Annie Automated Text Messaging for health care reminders, VA Mobile health apps, and devices.

Veterans, caregivers, and family members can speak with virtual care experts for support with currently used tools and find new options that suit their individual health care needs. “Our hope is to provide a one-stop shop, where VHRC staff can support all virtual care needs”, said Lara Carson, RN, My HealtheVet & Connected Health Coordinator.

VA staff can turn to the VHRC for support with incorporating virtual care tools into their daily workflow and clinical practice. Regular trainings and virtual care support are part of the day-to-day education provided by the VHRC staff. VA staff can refer their Veterans when they have questions or need technical support beyond a VA staff member’s expertise.

The Minneapolis VA VHRC will be open for phone, video, and in-person consultations with their health technology experts. Veterans, their family and caregivers, and VA staff are encouraged to stop in during the next visit to the Minneapolis VA Medical Center. The VHRC is in the main flag atrium on the first floor.
