The North Florida/South Georgia Veterans Health System (NF/SG VHS) is proud to announce the establishment of new accessible fitness equipment at the Malcom Randall VAMC located at 1601 SW Archer Rd, Gainesville, FL 32608.

On Nov. 1, 2024, Greenfields Outdoor Fitness equipment became available to all Veterans, their caregivers, and employees. The equipment is designed to be accessible for individuals of all ages and fitness levels, and it is constructed from environmentally sustainable materials, ensuring both durability and enhanced user safety, making it an ideal addition to our organization.

Janice Cornett, the Employee Whole Health Coordinator for NF/SG VHS explained, “The connection between physical activity and mental health has been well established, this equipment will allow Veterans, caregivers and employees to engage in physical activity in a natural setting and by doing so can improve their mental health, reduce stress and increase their physical strength.”

“Whole health is the VA’s approach to care that supports health and well-being. This new fitness equipment is part of that approach to care,” Cornett said.
