Jesse Theisen-Toupal, MD is a graduate of the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine.

and completed his Internal Medicine residency at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts.

Following residency, he was a hospitalist at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and an Instructor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School. In 2015 he moved to the Veterans Affairs Medical Center where he works as a hospitalist and is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences and Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences. He serves as Director of the Rapid Response program, Director of Moonlighting, and Co-Director for the VA Acting Internship in Internal Medicine. His clinical interests include the inpatient management of persons who inject drugs, opioid use disorder, and alcohol withdrawal.
