COVID-19 Vaccines & Testing
Across the West Palm Beach VA Healthcare System are options to receive a COVID-19 vaccine as a walk-in or by appointment based on your location of preference.
COVID-19 Vaccines
We have stopped administering the Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna bivalent COVID-19 vaccines, pending the arrival of the new formulation that was recently authorized by the FDA. Updates will follow once the new vaccines are available.
COVID-19 Testing Drive-Thru Deactivation
As local transmission levels decline and more vaccines/boosters are administered, the requirement for COVID-19 testing has been updated. Based upon the updated guidance, operation of the COVID-19 Drive Thru is no longer required. The last day of operations is Friday, June 16, 2023.
Please find below the updated guidance for COVID-19 Testing for Veterans beginning Monday, June 19, 2023:
- If Veterans are symptomatic with mild side symptoms (cough, sneeze, etc.), it is recommended they perform an over-the-counter Antigen Self-Test kit (i.e. BinaxNow) at home and remain in isolation for five days.
- If Veterans are symptomatic with more severe symptoms (shortness of breath, high fever, etc.), we request that they report to the Emergency Department.
- To ensure accuracy of test results, when using an over-the-counter Antigen Self-Test kit (i.e. BinaxNow), if test results are negative, please advise Veterans to repeat within 48 hours.
