In high school, Chantelle planned on a military career. After experiencing war and violence during her deployment to Iraq, she instead began working to promote peace and social justice through activism and art. Chantelle helped launch the field organizing program for Iraq Veterans Against the War. She is involved with the national organization Warrior Writers, and encourages other veterans to share their stories as a way to heal, build community, and raise awareness. Chantelle has a beautiful baby girl and recently started a new job.
