Raquel’s friends and family call her “Rocky.” The first time Rocky was deployed, her daughter was 15 years old. The experience of being separated from her was very difficult. After returning from her second deployment, Rocky had a tough time sleeping and readjusting to civilian life. She finds peace and solitude in nature, that helps her to deal with some of the difficult experiences she had while deployed.
