Abbie Gutierrez MD

Abbie Gutierrez, MD joined the Lexington VAHCS in 2018 and as an Emergency Medicine physician. She was named Associate Chief of Staff – Care in the Community in November 2022.  Abbie’s professional interests include process improvements and employee retention initiatives. Abbie has served on several committees with the Lexington VA including Disruptive Behavior Committee and the Sepsis Workgroup. She is a graduate of the Lexington LEAD program. Prior to joining VA, Abbie served as Emergency Medicine Facility Medical Director at St. Joseph Berea and St. Joseph Jessamine. 

Dr. Gutierrez is a graduate of Northwestern Feinberg School of Medicine and completed her Emergency Medicine residency at Michigan State University, Sparrow Hospital. She resides in Versailles, KY with her husband Marcos and their three children Luis, Alejandro, and Emilio.
