Acquisition Human Capital Management Service
The Acquisition Human Capital Management Service (AHCMS) Directorate is responsible for devising and implementing various Congressional, Federal and Departmental initiatives to enhance and promote the professional development of VA’s acquisition workforce. This office collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to manage Federal Acquisition Certifications (FAC). Additionally, the AHCMS provides acquisition workforce and human capital metrics to leadership across VA by performing and analyzing workforce readiness assessments. The Departmental Acquisition Career Manager (ACM), who also serves as the Director of AHCMS, is the agency’s lead official for career management of the acquisition workforce. The Departmental ACM partners with Regional ACM Liaison Officers (ACMLO) to ensure VA’s acquisition workforce meets the requirements set forth in Policy Letter 05-01 issued by the Office of Federal Procurement Policy (OFPP). AHCMS also serves on various OFPP and Federal Acquisition Institute (FAI) Boards, Councils and Forums.
