Subject: Rescission of Acquisition Policy Flash 22-12
Purpose: To rescind Acquisition Policy Flash 22-12, Guidance on Not Using North American Industry Classification System (NAICS): Classification 2022 Until Small Business Administration (SBA) Update, as the NAICS standards and manual were updated in 2022.

Effective Date: February 11, 2025.
Background:
Acquisition Policy Flash 22-12 was issued on February 1, 2022, to “advise all procurement professionals not to use the NAICS 2022 codes when preparing solicitations and awarding contracts until SBA updates its small business size standards to NAICS 2022, which SBA anticipates implementing on October 1, 2022.”
SBA subsequently updated its small business size standards, effective October 1, 2022.
Applicability: This notice applies to all contracting activities.
Action Required: VA personnel must consult and use the appropriate NAICS 2022 codes when preparing solicitations and awarding contracts. View the NAICS 2022 manual.
