Andrew D. Centineo
Andrew Centineo was appointed in November 2018 and oversees Procurement and Logistics support to the Veterans Health Administration. In this role, Mr. Centineo is responsible for developing agile, new, integrated systems and technologies, and partnering and collaboration opportunities across the U.S. government in accordance with 38 U.S. Code § 8111 to advance the VHA’s medical supply chain. With over 3,000 employees, the Procurement & Logistics Office is one of VHA’s largest staff elements with responsibilities that include ensuring the procurement of high-quality health care products and services in the most cost-effective manner, as well as implementation of clinically driven strategic sourcing.
Mr. Centineo is a retired U.S. Army Colonel with nearly 30 years of combined experience and leadership in health care logistics to include field medicine, small and large medical treatment facilities, contingency support, and corporate levels at Army, Department of Defense, and intragovernmental agencies.
Prior to his appointment, Mr. Centineo served as Director, Medical Logistics, Defense Health Headquarters where he was responsible for the integration of the Department of Defense’s medical logistics compliance, oversight of Joint medical logistics materiel standardization, and development of Military Health System policies and procedures while establishing a supply chain operating company model for the $11B Department of Defense medical logistics portfolio.
Mr. Centineo is a native of Valley Stream, New York and holds a Master of Science in Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College, a Master of Science in Management with a concentration in Information Systems from the Florida Institute of Technology, and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the State University of New York at Stonybrook.
