Disaster Assistance Resources for Veterans
If you or a Veteran you know needs immediate housing assistance during an emergency such as a natural disaster, please call the National Call Center for Homeless Veterans at 1-877-4AID VET (877-424-3838). Calls are answered 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Veterans and their families who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness are among the most vulnerable during natural disasters and public health emergencies. The increased demand for services and supplies in the wake of a natural disaster makes it especially challenging for these Veterans and their families to access the resources they need.
VA and other programs that serve Veterans experiencing homelessness are available to assist during natural disasters and other emergency events. VA staff are familiar with community agencies, local neighborhoods, resources available from VA and other sources, and key people responsible for coordinating city, county, and state disaster response.
