Social Worker Spotlight: Allison Earle
“Allison Earle has served as our Homeless Outreach Social Worker for the last couple years and was previously a HUD/VASH Social Worker since starting with the VA in 2014. She is an extremely hard-working individual who has grown and matured clinically in her role as Homeless Outreach Social Worker. Allison takes on extremely difficult cases and situations and works as diligently with each Veteran she encounters. Her co-workers have sung her praises, as well as Veterans, and co-workers from community agencies I have received several recognitions from the Veterans that Allison works with and have seen comments such as, ‘Allison gave me a home and my life back. Give that girl a raise.’ Staff are continually amazed with her wealth of knowledge and resources to assist our homeless Veterans. She does an amazing job with juggling her many responsibilities as HCHV Outreach Social Worker and does so with grace and a social worker's big heart.”

How long have you been employed by the VA?
6 years
Why did you become a social worker? What do you like about working in homeless programs?
I became a Social Worker to help those who need to change their story from one of struggle to one of triumph. It is my ultimate goal to ease people's burdens, even just for the brief moment I am present in their life. One day, I hope my position is no longer needed because mental health suffering and homelessness are eradicated.
Working in the homeless program is one of my passions; I am able to fight for people when they need advocacy, stability, and assistance in the most dire of situations.
What do you do for fun? Favorite Quote? What else would you like to share about yourself?
For me, it’s the simple things in life! For fun, I spend my time with my family (husband, parents, son) who are my world.
My favorite quote is: “Never was so much owed by so many to so few.” — Winston Churchill
Something more about me: I used to be very skilled at finding four leaf clovers, but not anymore. I suppose I do not need that "luck" anymore. 😊
