Social Worker Spotlight: Gabriel D. Wordlow
“Ms. Gabriel Wordlow has set the standards high for the homeless hotline referral response. She works on all the Miami Dade, Broward, and Monroe county referrals from NCCHV. She is very thorough, exhibits the ICARE values when speaking with Veterans, and individualizes follow up plans for their needs. She alone works on the referrals and follow up and because of her diligence has maintained 100% compliance for VISN 8 Station 546!”
—Marsha Latham, HCHV Supervisor

How long have you been employed by the VA?
2.5 years
Why did you become a social worker? What do you like about working in homeless programs?
I became a social worker to advocate for those who are unable to advocate for themselves. What I enjoy about working in the homeless programs is just being part of the housing process. Somebody must do the footwork to find the homeless Veterans and that is where I come in!
