6.5 years

Why did you become a social worker?  What do you like about working in homeless programs?

I think the decision to become a social worker has evolved over the years, but the most steadfast thing has been the importance of advocacy for concrete services to improve wellbeing of communities and those I serve in those communities.

I have had many good jobs in my career and served a number of different populations, but none have been as humbling and rewarding or have placed me in the fortunate position to do what gives me the greatest satisfaction—serving Veterans in their community through housing stability.

What do you do for fun? Favorite Quote?  What else would you like to share about yourself?

When I am not reading a book or two, I like to spend time outdoors at the beach, hiking around state parks looking for wildly interesting mycelium, and receiving new stamps in my passport.

Never give up on a dream just because of the time it will take to accomplish it. The time will pass anyway. — Earl Nightingale
