Social Worker Spotlight: Jaime Klosinski

“I am nominating Jaime Klosinski, LCSW, the medical SW Supervisor at VA Northern California Healthcare System. Although new to VA, she brings a wealth of experience to our Medical Center. In a short period of time, Jaime has made a positive impression on our SW team. Her positivity, approachability, and expertise has contributed to our service. Despite her busy schedule, Jaime corralled the SW Supervisors to find a creative way to spotlight and honor our SW staff. This year, the supervisors sent the staff sand timers as reminders for self-care. Jaime packed and sent nearly 80 sand timers to the supervisors. The NASW motto of “The Time Is Right For Social Work” was coincidental and apropos. Thank you, Jaime!”

How long have you been employed by the VA?
7 months
Why did you become a social worker? What do you like about working in VHA homeless programs?
I became a social worker because I met a social worker and fell in love with a profession that sees the person within the context of their environment and focuses on strengths.
I love supporting social workers. I like to make sure our teams have the resources and supports they need to hold space for our Veterans to access the resources available to them and find ways to thrive.
What else would you like to share about yourself?
I like to camp with my family, garden, do yoga, read, and cook.
