Social Worker Spotlight: Jeremy Floyd
“I am recognizing Jeremy for helping to establish best practices for the Salem VA HCHV Team in response to the VACO Smartphone initiative. The development of a 4-step process phone technology group was established to help Veterans better understand and use their smartphones, allowing them to learn the features of the phone and to utilize apps such as VVC and malware protection. A white paper was developed and he was invited to present his work on a National Telehealth call.”

Social Worker
Workplace & VISN
Salem VAMC, VISN 6
How long have you been employed by the VA?
2 years
Why did you become a social worker? What do you like about working in VHA homeless programs?
I became a social worker because I found myself gravitating towards helping others. My grandfather was a Veteran and received care at the Salem VAMC, and I interned at the same medical center while obtaining my MSW.
Having the experience to work with the homeless population has been a wonderful experience to help those in need and those who served.
What else would you like to share about yourself?
I am a new “dog dad,” so my time is filled exhausting our puppy.
My favorite quote is, “Don’t talk too much, be focused on the goal and achieve it.” – Niki Lauda
I am what some call obsessed with Formula 1 racing, which this quote is from.
