Why did you become a social worker? What do you like about working in VHA homeless programs?
We made the decision to be Social Workers in the homeless program because we believe in the VA mission and our abilities to provide services to our vulnerable population.
“The Time Is Right for Social Work and Social Workers” says it all for Overton Brooks VA Healthcare for the Homeless Veterans Social Workers. The pandemic as well as hurricanes present the need for people who can successfully work together as a team to provide services to individuals who are already struggling emotionally, physically, and mentally.
