Telehealth options for Veterans are more critical than ever during Coronavirus pandemic
Telehealth consultations between Veterans and medical providers make it convenient for Veterans to adhere to social distancing orders while receiving health care. Here are two examples of how this technology assists Veterans:
- A collaboration between VHA’s Center for Compassionate Care Innovation and VA Boston Healthcare System is making a difference in the lives of Veterans by providing in-home LED treatments for traumatic brain injury. The treatments are monitored by VA clinicians who track patient progress via telehealth technology.
- Through a partnership between VHA and the American College of Emergency Physicians, Veterans’ access to VHA’s tele-urgent care program will continue to expand. Veterans will be able to go to outpatient care centers to speak through an iPad to ED providers about low-level acute needs, such as flu symptoms.
