VA Acquisition Regulation Update 2008-35
Purpose: To notify the VA acquisition workforce of the publication of revised VAAR parts 839, 804, 811, and 812, and their affected parts 802, 824, and 852.
Affected VAAR Parts: VAAR parts 802, 804, 811, 812, 824, 839, and 852.
Effective Date: February 24, 2023.
Background: VAAR Update Number 2008-35 dated February 24, 2023 contains revisions to VAAR parts 839, 804, 811, 812, and affected parts 802, 824, and 852, that were published in a Federal Register Notice as a final rule at 88 FR 4739 (document number 2023-00586) on January 25, 2023 with an effective date of February 24, 2023, and which adopted as a final rule the proposed rule published November 17, 2021. Due to the publishing of the revised VAAR parts, Class Deviation from VAAR Parts 802, 812, and 852 Regarding Gray Market and Counterfeit Medical and Information Technology Items, dated 3/31/2020, is rescinded.
Applicability: This notification is directed to the VA acquisition workforce.
Action Required: Comply with the requirements of the abovementioned revised and affected VAAR parts.
