1. How can I find out what benefits and services I am able to receive?
For more information on VA benefits and services provided to women Veterans, call the Women Veteran Call Center at 1-855-VA-WOMEN or 1-855-829-6636. Confidential chats are also online. You can also learn about VA benefits you may be eligible for at ExploreVA.
2. How do I access the system for health and benefits services?
Healthcare:
The very first step in obtaining access to your VA Health Benefits is to apply for enrollment. Veterans can apply for VA health care enrollment by completing VA Form 10-10EZ, “Application for Health Benefits.” The 10-10EZ may be obtained online, or by visiting, calling, or writing any VA health care facility or Veterans’ benefits office. You can also call the VA Health Benefits Call Center toll-free at 1-877-222-VETS (1-877-222-8387) to determine your eligibility.
Benefits:
Another resource to receive benefit information and services is via eBenefits. eBenefits is an online portal for Service Members and Veterans to access their personalized Department of Defense (DoD) and VA information. You can register for an eBenefits account online using the eBenefits DS Logon Account Registration Wizard. There are two types of registration, Basic and Premium eBenefits Account, which gives you the highest level of access to eBenefits features. With a Premium Account you can view personal data about yourself in VA and DoD systems, apply for benefits online, check the status of your claims, update your address records, and more. To get a Premium Account, you must verify your identity.
Additional information and application forms can be obtained at VA’s website. The Veterans Online Application (VONAPP) allows you to complete and submit application forms on-line.
You may also call the VA nationwide toll-free number, 1-800-827-1000, for specific benefit information.
The Federal Benefits for Veterans and Dependents discusses the variety of Federal benefits available to Veterans and their dependents and survivors, such as Compensation and Pension, GI Bill (Education), Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment, Veterans Group Life Insurance, and Home Loan Guaranty.
