Institute for Learning, Education and Development (ILEAD)

Residing within the Office of Human Capital Management (HCM), the Institute for Learning, Education and Development (ILEAD) is responsible for the life cycle of an employee’s career journey within VHA, providing virtual and in-person training, products, services and cohort-based experiential development opportunities for employees in all phases of their career, from entry-level, through mid-career, to aspiring and new supervisors and managers, and for budding, future and current senior leaders at the executive level.

TCFTCF

TCF is a national Institute for Learning, Education and Development (ILEAD) workforce development program within VHA designed to replenish technical staff in critically identified positions. Allocations for the TCF programs are determined annually based on VHA's succession needs and budget. VHA pays salary/benefits and a training/travel allotment both years of the two year training program.

GHATP is an intensive, 12-month training program that gives trainees opportunities to learn from and interact directly with VHA healthcare administrators and support professionals inside a VAMC director’s office. Trainees work side-by-side with leaders of state-of-the-art healthcare facilities, expanding the breadth and depth of their knowledge of healthcare management in order to prepare for management positions within VA.

VHA TRAIN VHA TRAIN

VHA TRAIN is a gateway into TRAIN National, a free service of the Public Health Foundation and one of the most widely used learning management systems, providing a comprehensive catalog of public health learning products. VHA TRAIN is supported by the Veterans Health Administration Institute for Learning, Education and Development, an internal education and training program office in the Department of Veterans Affairs. The ILEAD-developed learning programs found in VHA TRAIN support the professional development needs of public health and health care providers, with a focus on Veteran patient care.
