Senior Executive Service Candidate Development Program
The SESCDP is a succession management tool certified by OPM that federal agencies use to identify and prepare aspiring senior leaders for cross-functional, inter-agency challenges. The program is comprised of tools, resources, activities, developmental assignment(s), evaluations, and reflections on learning which, when organized and matched to an individual’s development needs, help prepare candidates to become a senior executive.
The SESCDP is designed to further develop candidates’ competencies in each of the Executive Core Qualifications. Graduates who are certified by the OPM’s Qualifications Review Board (QRB) may receive an initial career SES appointment without further competition.
