FEI Leadership for a Democratic Society

The Federal Executive Institute (FEI) was created in 1968 and is the nation’s premier organization for public sector executive education and leadership development. The Leadership for a Democratic Society (LDS) program offers an unmatched learning experience to prepare senior-level executives for the complex challenges of leadership. Transformational leadership is one of the most significant issues influencing performance and effectiveness.

Leaders are being asked to reimagine operations, function with fewer resources and find new ways to tackle complex challenges. Past VHA attendees have rated this program as one of the best they have experienced.

The FEI-LDS program is based on OPM’s Executive Core Qualification (ECQ) standards. The curriculum focuses on personal and team leadership, inter-governmental collaboration and problem solving, strategic thinking, political savviness and leveraging the diverse talents of the federal workforce.
