GHATP is an intensive, 12-month training program that gives trainees opportunities to learn from and interact directly with VHA healthcare administrators and support professionals inside a VA medical center director’s office.

The Institute for Learning, Education and Development (ILEAD) is pleased to announce that the Graduate Healthcare Administrative Training Program (GHATP) trainee recruitment period is now open. GHATP is an intensive, 12-month training program that gives trainees opportunities to learn from and interact directly with VHA healthcare administrators and support professionals inside a VA medical center director’s office. Trainees work side-by-side with leaders of state-of-the-art healthcare facilities, expanding the breadth and depth of their knowledge of healthcare management to prepare for management positions within VA organizations.
Candidates must possess a degree in a major field of study in hospital administration (MHA, MSHA) public health administration (MPH) or related fields such as business (MBA) or public administration (MPA) with course work in healthcare administration or management; from an institution recognized by the Secretary, U.S. Department of Education. Applicants can check www.ed.gov to see if your college is listed.
Announcements are posted by participating VA medical centers from now until June 2023 on www.USAjobs.gov. Applicants should create an account on www.USAjobs.gov then set up an ongoing search using keyword GHATP and alert functions to keep up with posted announcements.
